Erin Cromer, daughter of Bridget Larkin Cromer, is serving in the Peace Corp in Zambia, Africa.

Erin arrived June 2015, did three months of training, including learning the language of Tonga. Her responsibilities focus on healthcare. She spent the first year in a hut the village built for her, which has a dirt floor, no electricity and no indoor bathroom. Her "water hole" is 125 meters away. She earns $200 a month. She recently was promoted to volunteer director and is responsible for 40 volunteers.

Erin's mother grew up in Pierce City. Erin is a 2010 graduate of Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield. Her late grandfather, Ed Larkin, was in the Electoral College that elected John F Kennedy and started the Peace Corp.

Erin welcomes visits to her Facebook page.
