Monett teachers to focus on professional development Tuesday

Meetings to focus on new strategies, tracking learning

Teachers in the Monett school district will be back on the job on Tuesday, Jan. 3, but in for professional development training prior to regular classes resuming on Wednesday.

Each campus will have its own focus for the day.

At Monett Elementary, teachers will concentrate on unobtrusive assessment as well as student generated assessment, the professional growth plan review, grade level common planning and collaboration/data analysis, assessment guides and the Missouri Learning Standards.

At Monett Central Park, teachers will concentrate on proficiency scales and assessments as evidence of learning, review and discussion of Recovery Room expectations as part of the Behavior Intervention Support Team.

At Monett Intermediate, faculty will focus on content collaboration, grade level collaboration and training on the GoNoodle program, a series of interactive activities aimed at improving physical activity and active engagement.

At Monett Middle School, teachers plan to focus on proficiency scales, specifically on aligning through Essential Learning Outcomes and assessments.

At Monett High School, teachers will work on Essential Learning Outcomes and proficiency scale development.

At the Scott Regional Technology Center, faculty will also work on Essential Learning Outcomes and proficiency scale development, as will as holding collaboration team meetings.
