Mt. Vernon woman injured, arrested after wreck
Vehicle rear ends another, driver attempts to leave scene
A Mt. Vernon woman was injured and then arrested in a wreck at 6:45 p.m. on Highway 360, three miles west of Springfield.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Brenda Eaton, age unknown, of Mt. Vernon, was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla westbound when her vehicle struck the rear of a 2005 Ford Escape, being driven by Lacie Cordova, 33, of Mt. Vernon.
Eaton then allegedly attempted to leave the scene, but ran off the roadway and struck a rock embankment.
Eaton suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Cordova was not injured.
Eaton was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on charges of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, and leaving the scene of an accident.
