The final mid-week Lenten service, sponsored by the Monett Ministerial Association, has been scheduled for noon on Wednesday, April 1 at New Site Baptist Church, southwest of Monett on Farm Road 1060. Jimmy Copley will speak. A light lunch will follow the service.

The next Craft Night at the Scott Regional Technology Center, led by instructor Beth Garrett-Dillon, will focus on making customized door hangers in the shape of flip flops. Participants are asked to bring specific paint colors if they want something beyond the colors provided. Class sessions are offered from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 13 or April 14. Cost is $20 per person. Registration should be made by April 6.

Lacoba Homes in Monett will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 2:30 p.m. on April 3. Participants are asked to enter from the Highway 60 side of the facility.

The Cassville Senior Citizens Center will host a dance at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at the center, 1111 Fair St. The band Roaring River Sound will perform. Charge is $4. Participants are asked to bring finger foods to share. For additional information, people may call 417-846-5355.

The Monett Rural Fire District will have its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 at the fire station on County Road in the Industrial Park.

The Purdy Family, Community and Career Leaders of America (FCCLA) would like to invite senior citizens in the Purdy School District to the seventh annual Senior Citizens Appreciation Luncheon. The luncheon will be held at 1 p.m. on April 12 in the school cafeteria. Parking will be available on the east side of the campus, by the cafeteria. FCCLA members will present a special program with entertainment. The luncheon menu includes baked chicken and ham, au gratin potatoes, vegetables, hot rolls, dessert and drinks. Special door prizes will be awarded during the event. Senior citizens who plan on attending the event should RSVP with Marsha Williams at (417) 442-3215, ext. 4. Reservations will be accepted until April 3.

The SilverTeens senior singles group will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 for supper. For additional information, people may call 417-393-9212.

The Monett/Purdy affiliate of Habitat for Humanity will hold a groundbreaking for its ninth house at 10 a.m. on April 4 on East Nellie Street in Monett. Site workers are still needed for work on Saturdays, beginning on April 18. Members of the Groundbreakers Club are urged to send in their $50 donations to PO Box 123, Monett MO.

A public reception for artist Kelly Kat Verstraete, creator of eclectic pieces, will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on April 4 at the Keen Bean, 1031 S. Market St. in Mt. Vernon.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host blood drives from noon to 5 p.m. on April 3 at Lowe's on Highway 60 in Monett; from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 1 at Pierce City High School; and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 6 at Mercy Hospital, 94 Main St. in Cassville.

The Four-State Guitar Show and Swap meet, with new, used and vintage instruments, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at Memorial Hall, 407 S. Garrison Ave. in Carthage.

The 13th annual Easter Egg Hunt in Mt. Vernon will be held at 11 a.m. on April 4 at the Spirit of '76 Park. The Pierce City Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 1 p.m. at South Park.
