Habitat for Humanity, Monett/Purdy affiliate, will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. at First Christian Church, fourth and Wishart in Monett.

Walt Hamer, with the Monett Lions Club, will be the speaker for the noon meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12 of the Monett Kiwanis Club, held at Happy House restaurant.

A public presentation of the design for the new Monett High School Performing Arts Center and FEMA Safe Room will be given at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in the media center at Monett High School. Public input is welcome on the final design. Approval for the FEMA projects has been approved.

The Monett Area Extended Employment (Sheltered) Workshop Board of Directors will meet at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 204 S. Central in Monett.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Mercy Hospital-Cassville, 94 Main St.; from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 19 at Pierce City High School; and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 22 at Wheaton High School.

A town hall meeting on the Common Core school standards will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 at Verona High School. An open dialogue will discuss implications of the new school standards. Stacy Shore, from Camdenton, will be a special presenter. Light refreshments will be served.

The Barry County Tax Board for the Developmentally Disabled will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the Cassville Branch Library.

The 40th annual Golden Age Dinner, hosted by Monett High School Student Council, will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Monett High School. All senior citizens are invited. Dinner, entertainment, and prizes are provided. To reserve a seat, call 235-5445. Transportation is also provided if needed, to those that live in Monett.

Countryside Christian Church in Monett will hold a Living Nativity on the church grounds from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. Area churches will participate in the effort. For more information, call 737-1578.

Empire District Electric Company has declared a dividend for the quarter ending on Sept.30 of $.255 per share, reflecting a 2 percent increase over the previous quarter's dividend. The dividend is payable Dec. 16 to holders of record as of Dec. 2.

"Purdy's Got Talent," the Purdy R-2 School District's annual, all-school talent show, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 in the elementary gym. The competition begins at 7 p.m.

The Lawrence County 4-H Club will sponsor the second annual 4-H 5K Run for Health at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, beginning at Oak Park. Cost to register is $15. For more information, call Karla Deaver at 417-466-3102.

Drivers can expect one-lane traffic at night on the Route 39 bridge over Table Rock Lake in Shell Knob from Nov. 20 through Nov. 22 for work to smooth the pavement on the bridge. Work help extend the life of the bridge deck which was replaced in a project completed shortly before Memorial Day 2013. Contractor crews will work 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
