The Monett Special Road District commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 8 in the conference room at Monett City Hall.
The Barry-Lawrence Ambulance District Board of Directors will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9 at 307 Dairy St. in Monett.
The Freedom Arena, part of the Freedom Christian Center, will host a 5D Barry Race Saddle Series on Thursday, July 11. Exhibitions start at 6 p.m. and the jackpot is at 8 p.m. Entry fee is $25. A CFRA Rodeo will be held at 7:30 p.m. on July 12, with mutton busting, calf riding, steer stopping, team roping, barrel racing, steer riding, calf and goat tying and chute dogging. A Ranch Rodeo will be held at 6 p.m. on July 14. The arena is located four and a half miles south of Interstate 44 on Highway 39. For more information, call 417-678-6909.
The Barry County Democrat Club will hold its annual picnic on Thursday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rocky Edmondson Memorial Park in Cassville. The annual Barry County land sale for unpaid taxes will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 at the historic Barry County Courthouse in Cassville. Land available will be advertised for three consecutive weeks in the Cassville Democrat, beginning July 17. Copies will be available at the office of Barry County Collector Janice Varner.
Speaking at the noon July 9 meeting of the Monett Kiwanis Club will be Kitty Hammen, manager, and Sally Felton, clinical director for the Cox Outpatient Clinic of Ozarks Dialysis in Monett. The meeting will be held at Happy House restaurant.
"Journey to Athens," a joint Vacation Bible School between the First Christian, First Presbyterian, St. Stephen's Episcopal and Waldensian Presbyterian churches will be held July 8-12 at the First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church, Fourth and Wishart, with sessions from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for children from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Registration forms are available from church members.
The Barry-Lawrence Emergency Preparedness meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 11 at the Monett Justice Center.
Kingdom Rock Vacation Bible School will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on July 22 through July 26 at the First United Methodist Church of Monett, located at 1600 N. Central, across from North Park. Activities will begin with a pool party at the YMCA (indoor pool) from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday July 21. Children must be accompanied by their parents. Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold blood drives from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 9 at the Yoder Farms, 17243 Highway P near Verona, and in Aurora from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on July 9 at the First Baptist Church and from noon to 4 p.m. on July 12 at Mercy Hospital in Aurora.
