Springfield, MO- Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction 3/25/2013

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

Receipts: 177 Last Week: 428 Last Year: 417

Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher and
slaughter bulls sold 1.00 lower. Nearly all of the offering went to slaughter.
Receipts were light following an early spring snow this past weekend and
temperatures were cold enough this morning to have sorting facilities frozen
down. Due to the weather conditions most cattle were carrying extra fill.
There were only a handful of bred cows and no cow/calf pairs traded. Supply
was light and demand moderate for slaughter classes.
