In commemoration of the help provided by the Missouri National Guard between 1984 and 1986 in using its earthmoving equipment to shape the park around the historic Jolly Mill, southwest of Monett, the Friends of Jolly Mill made a recent presentation to the Guard.

Board members presented a colored drawing of how the park property looked when the Guard offered its help.

The presentation was made at the Pierce City Armory, noting the contribution of both Pierce City and Monett Guardsmen who helped.
