Nora was born in Freistatt, Mo. on April 22, 1917. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church as well as actively involved in a number of church and community organizations, including the Dorcas Ladies Aid, the University of Missouri Extension Club and Council, the Friendship Club and the Lawrence County Republican Committee.
She married David William Lampe on Nov. 5, 1939. They were married 59 years upon his death on Jan. 20, 1998. Nora was preceded in death by her husband, David Lampe; her son, Dennis Lampe; her daughter, Maretha Lampe; her parents, Martin and Renate Krueger; one brother, Vernon Krueger; and one sister, Clara Bracht.
Nora is survived by two sons, L. David Lampe, of Columbia, Mo. and Harold Lampe, of Pierce City, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Gwen Lampe, of Pierce City; her grandchildren, Jenny and Greg Woods, Courtney and Jeremy Sowers, LaRae and Jordan LaBouff, Bryon and Linda Lampe; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Woods and Henry Sowers.
Nora was a woman of amazing strength and endurance. She was a blessing to her family, friends and community. Her death will leave a great void with those who loved and knew her best.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lampe will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt. Reverend Ryan Buchmueller will officiate. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Radio Broadcast, Lutheran Braille Workers or Trinity Lutheran School Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Mo.
