Members of the Purdy High School animal sciences class recently observed Purdy veterinarian Dr. Sam Harkey in action. The class visited Harkey's clinic, All about Pets, where they observed a spaying procedure performed on a one year-old female dog. Students learned about the importance of vaccinations and parasite control, as well as the health and well-being of pets. Dr. Harkey visited with the class about careers in animal and veterinarian sciences. Students taking the class are eligible for four hours of college credit from either Missouri State University or Crowder College. The students visited the clinic as part of the animal reproduction unit they are covering in class.
