The Pierce City Senior Center will host a dance with the Fun Timers Band at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24. Admission is $3. Finger foods are welcome.

Ebenezer Baptist Church will host an Old-Fashioned Day service on Sunday, Jan. 27, beginning with worship at 10 a.m. A dinner will be served following services. At 1 p.m., special singing will be offered by three different groups. The church is located two miles north of Monett on Chapell Drive (Farm Road 1090).

Community gospel singing will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Merl's Chapel Church, four miles north of Cassville on Highway Y. Singers, players and listeners are welcome.

The 642nd Lawrence County Gospel Sing will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Nazarene Church, located at 503 Necessity in Marionville. Singers and musicians are welcome.

The Lawrence County Health Department will hold food service training workshops in accordance with the revised county food ordinance from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25. To enroll, call 417-466-2201.

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce invites the public to attend its annual appreciation banquet on Jan. 26 at Aurora High School. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20. The Missouri State University BearTones will provide entertainment. To purchase tickets, call 417-678-4150.

The Barry County Tax Board for the Developmentally Disabled will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28 at the Cassville Branch Library.

Preschool and kindergarten screenings will be held at Monett Elementary School on Feb. 5 and on March 5 and 12. The team will check motor skills, speech and language skills, concept development, vision and hearing. Screenings are free and take approximately one hour. Parents receive a summary of results. Bring the child's birth certificate and immunization records. Call 235-3411 for an appointment.

More than 30 regional authors and 10 speakers from Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas will participate in the first Authors Book Signing Day at the Kimberling Area Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2. Books in more genres will be represented. The library is located at 45 Kimberling Blvd. in Kimberling City. For more information, call the library at 417-739-2525.

The Barry County Retired School Personnel will have their monthly meeting on Friday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. for social and snack and 10:30 a.m. for business meeting at St. John's Lutheran Church in Monett. The guest speaker will be from the Monett Area YMCA.

Eagle watching day at the Veterans' Memorial Park in Stella, hosted by the staff of Wildcat Glads Conservation and Audubon Center, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26.

A Valentine's Dinner is planned for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Pierce City Senior Center, Cost is $12 per person, payable when making reservations. The dinner includes stuffed pork loin. For more information, call 476-5006.
