The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold blood drives from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Cox Monett Hospital, 801 N. Lincoln, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31 at Aurora High School, 305 W. Prospect.
The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21 at the Barry County Museum, located on Highway 112 South in Cassville. Following the business meeting, a tour will be held of the Bayless House. Input on programs will be welcomed.
An open house will be held at Cox Monett Rehab and Sports Medicine, located at 700 E. Cleveland Ave. in Monett, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, for the new HydroWorx aquatic therapy pool. The public is invited to tour the training facility, meet the therapists and trainers and check out the training equipment.
The Barry County Republican Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 22, at the Barry County Museum in Cassville at 6:30 p.m., with the BBQ Station in Cassville, catering the evening meal. Presiding Commissioner Cherry Warren will be the guest speaker.
Ebenezer Baptist Church will host an Old-Fashioned Day services on Sunday, Jan. 27, beginning with worship at 10 a.m. A dinner will be served following services. At 1 p.m., special singing will be offered by three different groups. The church is located two miles north of Monett on Chapell Drive (Farm Road 1090).
The Pierce City Senior Center will host a dance with the Fun Timers Band at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24. Admission is $3. Finger foods are welcome.
Preschool and kindergarten screenings will be held at Monett Elementary School on Feb. 5 and on March 5 and 12. The team will check motor skills, speech and language skills, concept development, vision and hearing. Screenings are free and take approximately one hour. Parents receive a summary of results.
