Bruce Kevin Lavigne, age 49, a resident of Beggs, Okla., died in Beggs on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.
He was born to Robert Leo and Kathleen (Bowman) Lavigne on Feb. 9, 1963 in Rhinebeck, N.Y. He graduated from high school in Pierce City, Mo., and received an associate degree from OSU-Okmulgee in diesel mechanics. Bruce loved his family, western books, western movies, the Dallas Cowboys but hated the Kansas City Chiefs. He coached Little League football and baseball while his boys were young.
His grandmother, Aurinda Parkman, mother-in-law, Imogene Rogers, and several uncles and aunts preceded him in death.
Survivors included his wife, Terri Lynn Lavigne, of the home; sons Bruce Cody Lavigne and Kadie Bassett, of Tulsa, Okla., and Kyle Allen Lavigne, of Beggs, Okla.; a daughter, Samantha Nicole Lavigne, of Beggs; a grandson, Bruce Thomas Lavigne, of Tulsa; four sisters, Rose Boswell and husband, Dave, of Springfield, Mo., Kim Allen, and husband Dale, of Pierce City, Mo., Mellisa Gamel, and husband David, of Kansas City, Mo., and Heather Stockard, and husband Jeff, of Kansas City, Mo.; four brothers, Dan Lavigne, of Kansas City, Mo., Robert Lavigne, of Indianapolis, Ind., Brett Lavigne, and wife Anna, of Kansas City, Mo., and Quentin Lavigne, and wife Cindy, of Kansas City, Kan.; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 14 at the McClendon-Winters Chapel in Okmulgee. Burial was in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Condolences may be made at mcclendon-winters.com
