The Kings Prairie Special Road District commissioners will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at Grant's restaurant in Monett.

Preschool and kindergarten screenings will be held at Monett Elementary School on Feb. 5 and on March 5 and 12. The team will check motor skills, speech and language skills, concept development, vision and hearing. Screenings are free and take approximately one hour. Parents receive a summary of results. Please bring the child's birth certificate and immunization records. Call 235-3411 for an appointment.

The Men's Club at St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie will offer a chili and potato soup supper at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Parish Hall. Desserts and a beverage will be available for a free will offering.

The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21 at the Barry County Museum, located on Highway 112 South in Cassville. Following the business meeting, a tour will be held of the Bayless House. Input on programs will be welcomed.

An open house will be held at Cox Monett Rehab and Sports Medicine, located at 700 E. Cleveland Ave. in Monett, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, for the new HydroWorx aquatic therapy pool. The public is invited to tour the training facility, meet the therapists and trainers and check out the training equipment.

Eagle watching is planning for Saturday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Feb. 16 at Roaring River State Park near Cassville.

The Barry County Republican Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 22, at the Barry County Museum in Cassville at 6:30 p.m., with the BBQ Station in Cassville, catering the evening meal. Presiding Commissioner Cherry Warren will be the guest speaker, and he will be presenting information regarding the Barry County 2013 upcoming budget and other county issues. Barbara White, Club President would like to extend a warm welcome for all Republicans to attend the informative meeting.

Live music will be offered at the McDowell Jubilee at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19. All musicians are welcome to come and play bluegrass and old-time music. The Jubilee is located south of Highway Z, southeast of Monett, on Highway VV, near the McDowell sign.

The Mt. Pleasant Benefit Special Road District commissioners will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Freistatt Fire Station.

St. John's Lutheran Church has established a benefit account at Community National Bank of Monett/Aurora for Chloe Fellwock, daughter of Mark and Johna Fellwock.

The Rebel's Bluff Troupe will present the play "Arsenic and Old Lace" at the Mt. Vernon Arts and Recreation Center (The Marc). Performances will be held on Feb. 8, 9 and 10. The show will be presented in a dinner theater format. Reservations will be placed with Logan Electronics by calling 417-466-7861.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Cox Monett Hospital, 801 N. Lincoln, and from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the Cedar Hollow Mennonite School, 4694 Farm Road 1185, near Miller.
