Barry County Jail now accepts credit, debit cards

Thursday, January 17, 2013

The Barry County Jail is now accepting credit and debit cards to purchase inmate phone cards or to pay a cash bond.

Credit and debit transactions will be handled through GovPayNet at www.GovPayNow.com or by calling 888-604-7888. Consumers can post a cash bond or purchase up to five inmate phone cards within a seven day period or pay at the jail. GovPayNet accepts Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover and debit cards. A service fee is charged for each transaction.

"I believe this will help those who pay for a cash bond easier and quicker," said Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly. "This will be especially helpful if it is needed during hours the bank is not open."

For more information, call the Barry County Jail at 417-847-3461.
