Athletic team to appear at local church

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

John Jacobs and his Next Generation Power Force Team will provide demonstrations of strength and skill in appearances at the Body of Christ Outreach Ministries in Wheaton on Jan. 19 and 20.

Founded by Jacobs more than 30 years ago, the Next Generation Power Force Team has held crusades in 40 counties and participated in more than 30,000 public school assemblies. The team has led record crusades for evangelists such as Joel Osteen and John Hagee and at many of the nation's largest churches.

The team has been featured in People magazine, on CNN and appeared on a 1999 episode of Walker, Texas Ranger with Chuck Norris.

Members of this national "feats of strength" ministry include former professional football players Shawn King and Jerome King; and Englishman Paul Rogers, winner of the 2009 Florida Master's Strongman competition.

"All team members have a strong desire to proclaim the truth in God's word in order to help people become more than conquerors in Christ by changing their personal image from the inside out as a result of letting Christ live in and through them," said Jacobs.

Jacobs and the Next Generation Power Force Team will be at the Body of Christ Outreach Ministries, located at the former Gizmo's Event Center, in Wheaton at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19, and at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Jan. 20. Admission is free.
