Pasture forage, getting a loan and artificial insemination will be the topics discussed at the 84th annual Barry County Soils and Crops Conference, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 29 at the Butterfield Community Center.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Barry County Extension Council, and Cassville Chamber of Commerce and area agribusinesses.
Registration for the event will begin at 6 p.m. A free meal will start at 6:15 p.m. The speakers will begin shortly before 7 p.m.
Dona Goede, extension livestock specialist in Stockton, will speak on the advantages of timed artificial insemination of livestock.
Gregg Bailey, with Community National Bank in Aurora, will discuss agriculture lending to today's economic climate.
A panel of local producers will discuss their pasture forage strategies. On the panel will be Charles Fletcher, Francis Washick, Jeff Kaal and Emil Rosewicz. Agronomy specialist Tim Schnakenberg will serve as moderator.
