Draw Pierce City 2013 contest underway

Thursday, January 10, 2013

Pierce City artists are invited to enter the 2013 Draw Pierce City contest, open to any public, private or home- schooled student in the Pierce City R-6 School District. The event is sponsored by the Pierce City Arts Council.

Adult artists over the age of 18 are also invited to compete, but need not live within the PC R-6 school boundaries.

Entries must be no larger than 18 by 24 inches, with medias to include pencil colored pencil, charcoal or ink. No identifying information should be on the front of the work.

The drawing should depict something related to Pierce City, past or present. Adults may also submit framed work. All entries will be judged by a professional artist. No photographs, prints, print making or computer-generated entries will be accepted.

Prizes will be awarded in the following four categories: kindergarten through third grade, $25; fourth through sixth grades, $25; seventh through 12th grades, $50; and adult (18 years and over), $100.

All entries may be dropped off at City Hall, located at One Frisco Place in Pierce City or at Bookmarks, downtown Pierce City, no later than Friday, Feb. 22.
