Missouri Weekly Hay Summary Week ending 01/04/2013

Friday, January 4, 2013

The limited supply of hay within Missouri has left in-state sales
at a standstill with the only consistent hay movement being from the barn
to the ring. Some hay is still moving from the Southeast states and
may be enough to carry through the producers who are short-bought. With
the turning of the calendar comes the counting to spring rather than the
pessimism about the length of winter. Hay supplies in Missouri are light,
demand is moderate and prices are steady. The Missouri Department of
Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and sellers.
To be listed, or for a directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/
