The Monett Kiwanis Club hosted a Christmas party for all the third graders in the Monett R-1 School District on Dec. 20, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church.

Around 70 children attended the event.

Retired Monett science teacher Heno Head provided entertainment with 12 science demonstrations relating to Christmas, describing creation, Biblical heroes and the scene at the manger.

Kiwanians treated their third grade guests to a hot dog dinner and ice cream bars for dessert. Don Weber is shown handing out the dessert bars. [Times Photo by Murray Bishoff] [Order this photo]
The evening ended with the telling of the Christmas story in the church sanctuary.

The faces of the third graders attending the Kiwanis Christmas party told who was having fun. Pictured, front row from left, are: Davine Cardenas and Bryon Deleon. Second row: Megan Sisney, Alexis Scates and Jakiya Williams. Back row: Jacob Alexander Morales. [Times Photo by Murray Bishoff]
