The Pierce City Fire Department would like to clarify a misunderstanding that was printed in the Nov. 29 issue of The Monett Times concerning the Barry-Lawrence Ambulance District and the possibility of being charged for supplies and training and their response time.

In a statement fire department leader said, 'The Pierce City Fire Department will not be charged for supplies or training, nor does the department believe the Barry-Lawrence Ambulance District has poor response times. The Pierce City Fire Department values and greatly appreciates all that the Barry-Lawrence County Ambulance District does for the department and Pierce City citizens and apologizes for any miscommunication it might have caused.

What a shame someone is backtracking. While the ambulance may not be charging the FD's for supplies (they are charging for training), they are refusing to restock a number of supplies the FD's use to care for patients, forcing the departments to purchase the supplies the ambulance is in turn billing for.
