According to Fire Chief Tom Jones, the spill was confined to two rooms. Firefighters in hazmat suits with breathing apparatuses spread material on the spill to soak it up. No injuries were reported. Additional hazmat-certified firefighters from Aurora were called in to serve as backup. Jones expected production would continue uninterrupted at the plant over the weekend. A professional industrial hazmat company would be needed to complete the cleanup. A Barry-Lawrence Ambulance District crew also stood by at the scene.
