The Pierce City Eagles basketball team exploded for 24 points in the fourth quarter to rally and defeat Wheaton on Dec. 4.
"For the first three periods of the game we were flat," said Pierce City coach Matt Street. "We woke up in the fourth quarter and were able to get on a run."
The Eagles (3-1) trailed 8-7 after the first quarter and were outscored 19-14 in the second period to trail 27-21 at halftime.
The Eagles trimmed the deficit to 6 points in the third frame outpacing the Bulldogs 10-9 to trail 36-31 to start the final period.
"We need to find a way to start quicker in ball games," said Street. "I don't want to get in the habit of needing to make fourth quarter comebacks."
