He was born on June 11, 1934, at Cape Fair, Mo., the son of Clarence Efton and Flossie Jewel (Hunter) Essary. On April 26, 1957, at Crane, Mo., he was united in marriage to Fairy Patton, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Donald Ray Essary and his wife, Connie of Monett, Mo. and Martin Daniel Essary and his wife, Nicole of McDowell, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Suckey, Lacy Creed, Darren Essary and Layna Essary and five great grandchildren, Drew Creed, Noah Creed, Colton Suckey, Amelia Suckey and Brynne Suckey.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Clovis Essary, Burle Essary and William Essary and six sisters, Alene Rainwater, Marcine Terry, Maxine Eaton, Pauline Friend, Darlene Greenway-Wheeler and Norma Dahms.
Dennis grew up in Cape Fair and received his education at Galena, Mo., where he attended high school. He served his country in the United States Army. Following his service he returned to southwest Missouri, where he has lived all his life. Dennis was an entertainer and enjoyed playing music and fishing. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo. Pastor Doyle Russell will conduct the services. Burial with full military honors will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cassville.
The family will receive friend from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
