Four injured in weekend wrecks

Four people were injured in a crash that occurred at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, on Highway 37 about three miles west of Pierce City.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 1991 Ford Explorer, James L. Ray, 33, of Wentworth, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Two passengers were ejected.

Injured were: Neoma L. Butler, 48, of Pierce City, and Michael D. Carter, 35, of Pierce City. Both were airlifted to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with moderate injuries. Juanita L. Ray, 43, of Pierce City, was taken by ambulance to Cox Monett Hospital with moderate injuries. Shania Ray, 13, of Pierce City, was taken to Cox Monett Hospital by a family member. None of the vehicle's occupants were wearing a seat belt.
