Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:38 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, on Highway 37 approximately one mile north of Cassville.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 1992 Toyota Corolla, Charles P. Willard, 45, of Washburn, stopped in traffic to make a left turn and was struck from behind by a 2002 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Jennifer D. Wall, 38, of Cassville. The impact sent the Willard vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic, where it struck the side of a 1999 Cadillac Hearse, driven by Jeremy C. Venderbol, 35, of Monett.
Wall was taken by private vehicle to Cox Monett Hospital with minor injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt. Willard was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Cassville with minor injuries. He and Vanderbol were wearing seat belts.
* Four people were injured in a two-car crash at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, on Rt. F three miles west of Eagle Rock. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2012 GMC Terrain, Leonard C. Barnett, 76, of Garfield, Ark., stopped in the roadway due to another accident and was struck in the rear by a 2005 Dodge Caravan, driven by James H. Nall, 51, of Cassville. Barnett received serious injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital Springfield. Three passengers were also hurt. Myrna Barnett, of Garfield, Ark., received moderate injures, Sherry Barnett, 57, of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Steven E. Weimer, 59, of Springdale, Ark., both received minor injuries. All of the passengers were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Springfield. The drivers of both vehicles and all passengers were wearing seat belts.
* A Galena man was injured following a crash that occurred at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, on Highway Z three miles east of Monett. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2003 Victory Motorcycle, Donald W. Buchanan, 52, ran off the roadway and overturned. He received moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Springfield.
