MHS Class of '42 holds reunion

Monett High School alumni from the classes of 1940-1942 recently gathered in Monett for a reunion. Those attending are pictured above. The Monett High School Class of 1942 celebrated its 70th anniversary from Oct. 12 through Oct. 14, with the Classes of 1941 and 1940 as special guests.

The group met for dinner at Grant's Restaurant in Monett on Friday and Saturday and for breakfast at the Super 8 Motel on Sunday morning. On Saturday evening, Dorothy Badger entertained class members by recalling several high school incidents.

Those attending from the Class of 1940 were: Eugenia Shellack, of Springfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lane, of Monett.

Attending from the Class of 1941 were: Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stocker, Mrs. Helen Gene Paine, Warren Horine and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Henderson, all of Springfield; and Dorothy Badger and Jack Williams, of Monett.

Attending from the Class of 1942 were: John Vogt and Katie Jones, of Tulsa, Okla.; Harley Richardson, of Bethany Okla.; Jacqueline Gilbert, of Kansas City; Nancy Phillips, of Kearney; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kinser, of Pensacola Beach, Fla.; Gene Paine and Dorothy Horine, all of Springfield; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Pennel, of Joplin; and Lee McCormick, Berneice Wood and Lucille Avondet, of Monett.
