Monett junior softball player Kelsey Wiseman was named to the Class 3 All-State second team.

"Kelsey is a great example of what hard work does for a person," said Monett coach Ty Goetz. "She is a player that you never have to motivate in practice or in a game. Her willingness to do what the team needs is a great attribute."

An Honorable Mention selection in the Big 8 Conference, Wiseman was an easy selection to the All-District and All-Region first teams.

Wiseman hit .455 with two home runs, two triples, 22 RBIs and 23 runs scored this season for the Lady Cubs. She helped Monett to a 23-6 record and their first quarterfinal playoff appearance.

"Hitting third in our lineup, Kelsey was still willing to bunt to advance runners," said Goetz. "She also had the ability to hit a home run. We are excited to have her for her senior season."

Wiseman is the daughter of Brian and Trisha Wiseman, of Monett.
