A total of 11 participants made up the Monett Chamber of Commerce's sixth Leadership Monett class. In honor of their achievement, each class member received a framed graduation certificiate and a special gift following a dinner, which was sponsored by EFCO, a Pella Company. The awards were sponsored by Kylee Campbell-State Farm Insurance.
The 2012 Leadership Monett Class included: Clemente Almaraz, Tyson Foods, Inc.; Mark Conner, IMEC; Michelle Eck, First State Bank of Purdy; Marvin Hensley, City of Monett; Blake Hohensee, EFCO, a Pella Company; Kristen Johnson, Johnson Heating & Cooling; Jeff Meredith, Monett Chamber of Commerce; Gina Milburn, Barry-Lawrence Regional Library; Victor Nielsen, EFCO, a Pella Company; Brisa Rueda, Kylee Campbell-State Farm Insurance; and Blake Waters, Jack Henry & Associates, Inc.
Special guest speaker for the graduation was the Honorable Judge J. Edward Sweeney.
Special awards of appreciation were presented to Regina Bowsher and Walter Branch for their long-time support of the Leadership Monett program.
Last week's graduation celebration marked the end of a 12-month program that included a two-day retreat in mid-August followed by eight five-hour class sessions.
Leadership Monett began in 2007. The Monett Chamber initiated the program to enhance "the foundation for great business and community leaders with targeted and specialized training in an affordable and accessible manner."
To date, 66 people have graduated from the program.

Co-chairmen of the 2012 Leadership Monett Committee were Rhonda Schilly and Lisa Schlichtman.
