Mary A. Moore, 90, of Monett passed away at her home on Nov. 20, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 6, 1922 in New Philadelphia, Pa. to John and Margaret Foley. She was one of nine siblings.
In 1943 she married Cecil Pettijohn of Stockton, Kan. and he preceded her in death in 1944. On Sept. 26, 1947, she married Max E. Moore from Stockton, Kan. With this union, they had two daughters and moved to Herington, Kan. where she worked as head cook at Herington Schools for several years. In 1976, her and her husband moved to Monett, Mo. to retire and fish at Roaring River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters and husband, Max E. Moore.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda and John Kirchner, of Monett and Diana Moore, of Monett; one granddaughter, Lynette Lauderdale; and two great-grandsons, Conner Lauderdale and Evan Lauderdale, all of Monett; one sister, Anna Jane Pettijohn, of Stockton, Kan.; longtime friends Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Stover, of Arkansas and her dog, Buster.
She enjoyed fly fishing at Roaring River, bingo, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be missed and forever in our hearts.
Graveside services for Mary will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett, Mo. with Father Paul McLoughlin officiating.
