The Dorcas Ladies Aid Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) Society of Trinity Lutheran Church hosted the 43rd Southwest Missouri Zone Lutheran Women's Missionary League Rally on Nov. 3 at the church. The theme for this year's event was "Go Fish."
Cynthia Rossow, zone president, called the meeting to order and Pastor Ryan Buchmueller led the opening devotion.
Judy Lehde, president, welcomed members and guests to Freistatt. The response was given by members of the Sarcoxie Trinity Lutheran LWML.
Mary Parks took roll call, recording 76 members, eight guests and five pastors, bringing attendance to a total of 89.
The ingathering, consisting of over 250 paper products and food items, was designated for Crosslines of Monett. An additional 144 tubes of toothpaste and dental floss were also donated. MaLinda King, director of Crosslines, was in attendance to receive the donated items.
The assembly sang "Serve the Lord with Gladness" during the offering. The LWML pledge was recited and Betty Sawyer served as pianist for the rally.
Bethany Nier, from Missouri State University Lutheran Student Center, presented four young college women who spoke on behalf of the Lutheran Campus Student Center.
Parks read minutes from the 2012 spring rally and reports from officers were given.
The table prayer was given by Neosho's LWML prior to a salad luncheon.
Those in attendance sang "Go Fish" and Pastor Phillip Wolf, zone counselor, led the Bible study on "Go Fish: Is this a statement of God's Law or God's Gospel?"
Announcements were made before the closing devotion, given by Nancy Johnson, of Grace Lutheran LWML of Lamar. The final hymn, "Thine the Amen, Thine the Praise," was sung before the meeting dismissed.
