Pierce City junior softball pitcher McKenzie Moreland was named to the Class 2 All-State second team.

"This season was very rewarding for our team since we lost so many seniors from the previous year," said Moreland. "Our team worked hard every day and stepped up to the challenge. We were still able to win our third district title in a row and advance to the state quarterfinals. I'm very proud to call this team my family."

Moreland was named to the All-Conference, District and Region first team squads and was named Pierce City's Most Valuable Player.

This season, Moreland accumulated a 16-5 record for the Lady Eagles. In 148 innings, she allowed 116 hits, struck out 162 batters and had a 1.23 ERA.

Moreland is the daughter of Russ and Kelly Moreland, of Pierce City.
