Letters from Santa are available for the 25th year through the ladies of Gamma Gamma Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. A letter from Santa will be send for $2. Requests, with the name, address, and age of the recipient, should be sent to Letters from Santa, 1008 W. Minor St., Aurora MO 65605.

Current foster parents and anyone interested in fostering or adopting are invited to attend a support group and training session on Monday, Nov. 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1600 N. Central in Monett. A support group for children ages 3 and up will be held at the same time. Participants are asked to bring a main food dish and a side for a potluck meal. The session is sponsored by the 39th Circuit of Children's Division and Compass Counseling Services. For more information, call 417-597-4572.

The Body of Christ Outreach Ministries will be having a revival with the Bilderbacks on Nov. 16 and Nov. 17 at the former Gizmo's Event Center, Highway 86 in Wheaton. Services begin at 7 p.m. both evenings. For more information, call the church at 417-652-3709.

Pierce City Community Christmas Vesper choir rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the First Congregational Church, located at Washington and Walnut in Pierce City. Rehearsals will be held on Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13, with a dress rehearsal on Dec. 15. The service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16. All singers are welcome. The deadline for accepting applications for the Lawrence County Toys for Tots program is Friday, Nov. 16. Applications are available at the Pierce City, Aurora and Mt. Vernon police departments. Boxes for toy donations have been placed are businesses in Aurora, Marionville, Miller and Mt. Vernon. For more information, call 417-440-1319.

The third annual Thanksgiving dinner will be provided for the residents of local group homes ARC of the Ozarks clients, staff and families will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Countryside Christian Church, located at 1200 N. Eisenhower in Monett. For reservations, call 417-489-0068.

The 39th annual Golden Age Dinner hosted by the Monett High School Student Council will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15. All senior citizens are invited. Dinner, entertainment and prizes are provided. Transportation is available. To sign up, call 235-5445.

Enrollment for the spring semester at Crowder College begins on Nov. 26 at the Scott Regional Technology Center. Financial aid is available to those who qualify. For more information, call 236-2895.

A fish fry fundraiser with vegetables, salad and dessert will be offered at noon on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Pierce City Senior Citizens Center, located at 104 Locust. Cost is $4.50 or $3.50 or those age 55 and older. Additional donations accepted. The center serves lunch on Tuesdays and Fridays at noon.

Food service training workshops will be held by the Lawrence County Health Department from 9 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 16 and 1 to 3 p.m. on Nov. 30 at the Health Department office, located at 105 W. North St., Mt. Vernon. Cost is $10 per person. For more information, call 417-466-2201.

A beef stew dinner will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Hobbs-Anderson American Legion Post, located at 717 E. Broadway, Monett. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under age 12. Carry-out is available. Proceeds will support Legion youth programs.
