The display included photographs and memorabilia dating back to World War I through Operation Desert Storm.
"I heard a story from one of our resident's wife about his serving aboard a submarine at the age of 19," Leamon said. "He told her that the ship was being torpedoed and the first one went under the ship and ignited. The second one hit the ship but failed to ignite.
" It's hard to imagine the feelings they had knowing they were on the brink of death, and they went through that without any kind of recognition," Meamon continued. "This display is something I thought would honor our veterans for their sacrifices."
