Monett jumped out to a 21-0 lead with two touchdowns from Kurran Blamey and one touchdown from Aaron Hall. Eldon had three punts and lost a fumble in the quarter.
Monett continued to apply pressure scoring after a Mustang turnover and adding another score on a Kyle Woods' run. Eldon scored right befor half to cut the Monett edge to 36-6 at halftime
Matt Murphy scored on the Cubs' first drive of the half to initiate the mercy clock. Eldon forced Monett's first punt of the game with 7:00 minutes left in the third period.
Both teams played out the string. Monett's Wes Abramovitz scored on a 10-yards run with less than four minutes to go.
How the units fared
Offence: A great day at the office for the Cubs with 421 total yards (371 rushing, 50 passing), six rushing touchdowns and no turnovers.
Defense: Solid all day. Held the Mustangs to 100 total yards and forced three turnovers.
Special teams: The Cubs weren't perfect on special teams, but they helped Monett win the field position battle and contributed to the victory.
Players of the game: Monett's offensive and defensive lines. The Cubs put up impressive numbers on both sides of the ball.
