Caring People Outreach extends program

Friday, November 9, 2012

The Caring People, an outreach of the Monett Community Church, invites all single mothers to attend services addressing the challenges of parenthood and geared to establish a firm Christian foundation. The program will be held at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday evening at the church, located across from Ramey Supermarket in Monett.

The Caring People, led by non-judgmental and caring women, offers a safe place for moms needing support and friendship. Childcare is provided.

Caring People was originally founded in Branson in 1997 by JoDee Herschend. The organization reaches out to single moms through special events, weekly mentoring groups, and online with valuable resources.

The Monett chapter was organized at the Monett Community Church in October by Pam Faith and Terre Costley.

"Our goal is to create an awareness of and a desire to meet Jesus for single moms," Costley said.

The Caring People and Lightning Lube are also sponsoring an Oil of Joy event on Saturday, Nov. 10. This includes a free oil change for single moms, by appointment only. To make an appointment, call Titus Fox at 417-235-5395.

The outreach is to encourage single moms to find their way to the Care Group.

For more information on the Caring People, contact Costley at tcostley@me.com or call 417-669-6212.
