A Leadership Summit is planned for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 at Drury-Monett, with this year's theme, "Leading by Example."
Five local leaders in the community have been invited to share their experiences in leadership.
Topics will include overcoming leadership obstacles, articulating and implementing your vision, motivating followers, ethics in leadership, traits of an effective leader, leadership philosophy and style, charismatic leadership and defining leadership.
"This started out as a project of the Leadership 101 class," said Joel Thomas, Drury instructor. "They are excited about bringing area leaders in at the same time to create a forum for them to share their experiences."
|Guest speakers will include Ann Hall, former president of First State Bank; Chris Fuldner, former chief executive officer at EFCO; Jack Primm, chief executive officer at Jack Henry and Associates; Ed Mareth, entrepreneur and owner of 3D Corporation in Monett; and Jim Miller, district supervisor of Kum & Go.|
Each will give a 10-minute presentation highlighting their personal and professional views on what it means to be a leader.
The event will conclude with a 45-minute question and answer period.
"I think this is an awesome opportunity for our students and their guests to experience some of our community's important leaders," said Ann Saunders, director of the Monett campus. "I hope it ignites a desire in our students to not only dream as our own future leaders, but to also take action, knowing they can make a difference in their own lives, the community and their world."
This event is open to the public and free of charge.
