The annual Monett High School fall production will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Monett City Hall Auditorium.

This year's production is Arsenic and Old Lace, a farcical black comedy revolving around Mortimer Brewster, a drama critic who must deal with his crazy family and local police in Brooklyn, N.Y., as he debates whether to go through on his recent promise to marry the woman he loves, Elaine.

Brewster's family includes two sweet, old aunts, Abby and Martha, who have taken to putting old men out of their misery by poisoning them with a glass of home made elderberry wine laced with arsenic, strychnine and just a pinch of cyanide; a brother, Teddy, who believes he's Theodore Roosevelt and digs locks for the Panama Canal in the cellar of the Brewster home.

The murderous brother, Jonathan, has received plastic surgery performed by an incompetent accomplice, Dr. Einstein, to conceal his identity and now looks like horror-film actor Boris Karloff.
