Morris Koehler, age 71, of Verona, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012, at his home. He was born September 30, 1941, in Verona, the son of Carl and Alberta (McNerney) Koehler. Morris was a 1959 graduate of Verona High School, a dairy farmer, a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus for 51 years, member of the Aurora Farmers Market and the Verona Fire Chief for 12 years. On September 4, 1965, he married Helen Conley in Pierce City, Missouri.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Helen; five children, Lisa Gardner of Billings, Missouri, Robert Koehler and his wife, Larinda, and James Koehler all of Verona, Julie Seal of Marietta, Georgia, and Nancy Sutherland and her husband, Mike of Aurora; two sisters, Gladys Muskrat and her husband, Sam, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Pat Smith and her husband, Charles, of Owasso, Oklahoma; one brother, Mark Koehler and his wife, Yavonne, of Verona; six grandchildren, Nick and Garret Gardner, Brittany Miller and her husband, Chris, Will and Samantha Koehler and Jack Seal; one great grandson, Owen Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and one son, Patrick Koehler preceded him in death.
A funeral Mass, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Verona, with burial to follow at the Calvary Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Cure PSP Foundation or Hospice Compassus in care of the funeral home.
