The Monett Halloween costume contest will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the Monett City Hall Auditorium, sponsored by The Monett Times and the Monett Lions Club. A bag of treats will be given to each participants. The public is invited to watch as well as participate.

The Kings Prairie Community Association will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the old Kings Prairie school house, west of Highway Z on Farm Road 2015, southeast of Monett. A short business meeting will be followed by snacks and coffee. For more information, call 417-442-7910.

Vietnam Veterans Chapter #1023 will meet at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4 at Grant's restaurant on Chapell Drive in Monett. The chapter meets on the first Sunday of each month. All veterans are welcome. For information, call 471-271-3835.

The monthly dance at the Monett Senior Center will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5. The Fun Timers Band will provide entertainment. Admission is $3. Those attending are encouraged to bring their favorite potluck or finger food. The center is located at 405 Dairy St.

A Fall Harvest Festival and Bazaar will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Wheaton United Methodist Church, 101 Santee St. A bake sale and bazaar will be held from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. A smoked turkey dinner with mash potatoes, green beans, salads, cranberry sauce and homemade pie will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost for the meal is $6 for adults and $3 for children age 12 and under.

A farm toy show will be held by the Galena Elementary School Bear Paws on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Galena Elementary School, 54 Medical Springs Rd. St. Lawrence Catholic Church Fall Feast will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the parish hall, sponsored by the St. Lawrence Church Parish Council of Catholic Women. The menu will consist of turkey or pork loin dinner, with mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, salad, dessert and beverage. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. For more information, call 235-3286.

The Seligman Lions Club will host a community dance at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Seligman Community Building. Frosty Garland and the Road Hogs will perform. Cost is $4. Snacks are optional, For more information, call 417-846-5355.

Barry County voters in Monett will vote in the Nov. 6 general election at the Church of the Nazarene, off Highway 37 by Farm Pro.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold blood drives from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29 at Southwest High School in Washburn, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Cassville High School, 1501 Main.

Liberty United Methodist Church will hold a chili supper from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. All-you-can-eat chili or stew will be served with a dessert and drink for $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 3 to 12. The church is located three miles north of Monett of Farm Road 1090.

The Pierce City United Methodist Church, located at Washington and Walnut, will hold an all-you-can-eat fried chicken dinner on Saturday, Nov. 3, beginning at 5 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. For more information, call Phyllis at 235-7519.
