The Monett community-wide Trunk-or-Treat will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the First United Methodist Church, located at 1600 N. Central in Monett. Parking is also available at North Park. Activities and concessions will be available.

The Monett Halloween costume contest will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the Monett City Hall Auditorium, sponsored by The Monett Times and the Monett Lions Club. A bag of treats will be given to each participants. The public is invited to watch as well as participate.

The McDowell Jubilee will be in session on Saturday, Oct. 27. The open mike format begins at 6:30 p.m. All musicians are welcome to come and play bluegrass and old-time music. The Jubilee is located south of Highway ZZ, southeast of Monett, on Highway VV, near the McDowell sign.

November is "Share Your Favorite Recipe Month" at the Purdy Library. Patrons are asked to bring favorite recipes and discover new ones. The library is located at Highway C and Fourth Street. For more information, call 417-442-7314.

Vision of Hope Narcotics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays and thursdays at 2101 E. Cleveland in Monett.

A Fall Bazaar at the Crane Presbyterian Church will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. Homemade crafts, gifts, baked goods and gently used items will be available. Chili, homemade vegetable beef soup with pie and coffee will be available beginning at 11 a.m. The church is located at 39322 Highway 413 East, across from the school.

Cox Monett Hospital will hold its drive-through flu vaccination clinic in the south parking lot of the Monett Physicians Building from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Enter from Lincoln Street. Cost is $20, cash or check only. This clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 in the hospital's main lobby.

The Vincent family will hold its annual reunion on Saturday, Oct. 28, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Hammons Community Center in Fairview. The meal is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. For more information, call Ruby Vincent at 417-574-6323.

Retired Monett city employees and their wives and husbands will meet on Monday, Oct. 29 at Grant's restaurant, 114 Chapell Dr., at 11:15 a.m. for lunch and visiting. All retired employees and other interested persons are invited to attend. For information, contact Doris Meyer at 235-5469.

St. Mary's Catholic School will hold its annual carnival from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. An all-you-can-eat soup and chili dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children age 7-18. Concessions will be available all night. A costume contest will be held at 6 p.m. The silent auction will end at 8 p.m. and a drawing will be held at 8:30 p.m.

A dedication of the Monett/Purdy Habitat for Humanity house, at 115 E. Nellie in Monett, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Sharra Meadows and her family will be available to meet the public. A home tour will be offered and refreshments served.
