Retired Monett city employees and their wives and husbands will meet on Monday, Oct. 29 at Grant's restaurant, 114 Chapell Dr., at 11:15 a.m. for lunch and visiting. All retired employees and other interested persons are invited to attend. For information, contact Doris Meyer at 235-5469.

The Pierce City United Methodist Church, located at Washington and Walnut, will hold an all-you-can-eat fried chicken dinner on Saturday, Nov. 3, beginning at 5 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. For more information, call Phyllis at 235-7519.

Liberty United Methodist Church will hold its annual chili supper from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. All-you-can-eat chili or stew, a dessert and drink are included. One roaster of green chili will be available this year. Tickets are $6 for adults, and $3 for children from age 3 to 12. The church is located three miles north of Monett on Farm Road 1090.

A beef stew dinner will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18 at the Hobbs-Anderson American Legion Post, located at 717 E. Broadway. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under age 12. Carry-out is available. Proceeds will support Legion youth programs.

Cox Monett Hospital will hold its drive-through flu vaccination clinic in the south parking lot of the Monett Physicians Building from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Enter from Lincoln Street. Cost is $20, cash or check only. This clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 in the hospital's main lobby.

A dedication of the Monett/Purdy Habitat for Humanity house at 115 E. Nellie in Monett will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Sharra Meadows and her family will be available to meet the public. A home tour will be offered and refreshments served.

St. Mary's Catholic School will hold its annual carnival from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. An all-you-can-eat soup and chili dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children age 7-18. Concessions will be available all night. A costume contest will be held at 6 p.m. The silent auction will end at 8 p.m. and a drawing will be held at 8:30 p.m.

A revival featuring the Ledbetter family will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 and run through Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Monett Fundamental Methodist Church, located at 810 13th St. Danny Ledbetter will speak at the Saturday service at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Grant Ledbetter speaks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. The public is invited to attend.

The second annual Halloween costume contest at the Monett Senior Citizen Center will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Judging will take place at 11 a.m. First prize is a $50 Walmart gift card, with prizes for second and third places. For more information, call 235-3285.

Body of Christ Outreach Ministries in Wheaton will dedicate its new building on Sunday, Oct. 28. The church is moving into the former Gizmo's Event Center on South Highway 86. Activities begin at 3 p.m. For more information, call 417-652-3709.
