The Monett Area YMCA will host "Lights On After School," from 5:30 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 25 at Central Park Elementary School. The free event will feature inflatable bounce toys, games and snacks, Costumes are optional. The event will help promote the YMCA after-school programs. The Purdy High School Marching Band will perform at the 46th annual Maple Leaf Festival Parade in Carthage on Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 9 a.m.

Monett Lodge #129, AF&AM, will hold its annual chicken dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Masonic Temple, 13th St. and Glen. Serving times are 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Meals include half a grilled chicken, baked beans, potato salad or cole slaw, dinner roll and a beverage for $6. Tickets are available from any member of the Lodge or at the door. Carry-out containers will be available.

Purdy Library Branch patrons are invited to bring children to the library before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31 for a Halloween treat. For more information, call 417-442-7314.

Faith Worship Center will feature Dr. Mark Shell, from Tulsa, Okla., speaking on "Spiritual Warfare: Conquering the Mind," on Oct. 21-24, with services at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, and at 7 p.m. the following days. The Southwest Missouri Tea Party will be held at noon on Monday, Oct. 22, at the American Legion in Cassville. Scott Fitzpatrick, Republican candidate for 29th District Missouri Senate, and Mike Moon, independent candidate for the Seventh District Congressional seat, will be guest speakers.

The Monett FFA will host a Holiday Craft Extravaganza from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Scott Regional Technical Center commons. Several crafters will have items for sale. For more information, call Tamra Sunby at 235-7022.

The Monett Senior Center, 405 Dairy St., will host a steak dinner fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. A six-ounce steak filet, baked potato, green beans, salad, rolls, dessert and beverage will be available for $9 in advance or $10 at the door. Musical entertainment will be provided by DeWayne Friend, guitar, and Al Brumley Jr. Proceeds will support center maintenance and the food service program.

The Barry County Council on Aging will have its monthly board meeting at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Central Crossing Senior Center in Shell Knob.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold at blood drive from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22 at Mercy Hospital in Cassville..

A Life Line Screening, sponsored by Cox Health Systems, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the First Baptist Church, located on Highway 97 north of Pierce City. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling 800-324-9458.

Berean Christian Academy is hosting a "party" fundraiser for Christmas shopping from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. Products from Longaberger, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Premier Jewelry Designers will be offered.

The Crane Athletic Booster Club will hold a Fall Craft and Junk Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 in the Crane school parking lot.
