Over the past weekend, trees around Monett suddenly burst in autumn colors. The maple trees at the corner of Sixth and Bond streets provide an annual reflection of the fall color show.

Despite concerns that the drought and more recent showers would kill the display, it appears the rain came in time to provide a bright fall pallet, though how long the leaves will stay on the trees has yet to be seen.
