Most conferences will take place from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, or between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon on Friday, Oct. 19. Efforts are being made to ensure interpreters are available for limited English-speaking parents or guardians.

The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) has also scheduled a book fair in the fifth grade science lab, room #24.

Parents of students in Monett Middle School will meet with their child's homeroom teacher. Homeroom teachers will make contact with students' parents or guardians to arrange a conference time. Conference times will be from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16; from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18; and from 8 a.m. until noon on Friday, Oct. 19.

Monett High School's eighth-hour teachers will make contact with their students' parents or guardians in order to arrange a conference time. Conference times will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15 through Wednesday, Oct. 17. Conferences will also be scheduled for 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 or from 8 a.m. until noon on Friday, Oct. 19. Interpreters should be available for limited English-speaking parents and guardians.

Scott Regional Technology Center's instructors will make contact with students' parents or guardians to schedule a conference time. All teachers will be available from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 and after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16 and Wednesday, Oct. 17, by appointment only.

All parents and guardians are urged to attend these conferences. Research indicates parents or guardians being involved on their child's education and setting high expectations for their student's achievement result in higher grades and test scores, better attitudes and behavior, better school attendance, more homework completed, less chance of being placed in special education courses, a greater chance of graduating high school and a better chance of enrolling in a post-secondary education.
