A dedication of the Monett/Purdy Habitat for Humanity house at 115 E. Nellie in Monett will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Meet Sharra Meadows and her family. A home tour will be offered and refreshments served.

Body of Christ Outreach Ministries in Wheaton will dedicate its new building on Sunday, Oct. 28. The church is moving into the former Gizmo's Event Center on South Highway 86. Activities begin at 3 p.m. For more information, call 417-652-3709.

The Barry County Council on Aging will have its monthly board meeting at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Central Crossing Senior Center in Shell Knob.

A spaghetti dinner will be offered be Hobbs-Anderson American Legion Post #91 on thursday, Oct. 18, at 717 E. Broadway, fromm 5 to 7 p.m. Plates are $5 for adults and $3 for children, Carry-outs are available.

The "Glow in the Dark" golf tournament sponsored by the Monett Kiwanis Club has been rescheduled for Friday, Oct. 19 at the Windmill Ridge Golf Course in Monett. Cost for the nine-hole three-person scramble is $30. "Glow-balls" will be provided. To register, call the golf course at 235-6076.

Food service training will be provided by the Lawrence County Health Department from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26. Sessions will be held at the health department office, 105 W. North St. in Mt. Vernon. To register, call 417-466-2201.

The Barry and Lawrence County Republican Central Committee will host a rally with state and county candidates at noon on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Monett High School commons. A luncheon will be provided by the Republican Committee. Candidates will begin to speak at 12:45 p.m.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold at blood drive from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22 at Mercy Hospital in Cassville; from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Oct.22 at the Cedar Hollow Mennonite School, 4694 Farm Road 1185 near Miller; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Marionville High School, 17725 Highway 14.

The Monett FFA will host a Holiday Craft Extravaganza from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on saturday, Oct. 20, at the Scott Regional Technical Center commons. Several crafters will have items for sale. For more information, call Tamra Sunby at 235-7022.

Cox Monett Hospital Auxiliary will hold a scrub sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 in the hospital lobby.

Training sessions for emergency medical technicians have been scheduled at the Aurora Fire Department. A refresher course will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 3, 10 and 17. Registration deadline is Oct. 17. A full initial course will be held three days a week, beginning on Jan. 8, 2013. Registration deadline is Dec.1. To register, call 417-440-0065.
