Monett Senior Center plans dinner fundraiser

Friday, October 12, 2012

A steak dinner fundraiser with live music is planned by the Monett Senior Citizens Center for Saturday, Oct. 20, at the center, located at 405 Dairy St.

The menu includes a six-ounce steak filet, baked potato with trimmings, green beans, salad, hot rolls, dessert and beverage for $9 in advance or $10 at the door.

An alternative menu for kids featuring hot dogs and chips are available for $5 at the door or $4 in advance.

Children age 3 and under will be admitted free.

Entertainment will be provided by Dewayne Friend, Dove Award-winning songwriter and guitarist who has performed for the past two years at the Kings Prairie Benefit Concert. Joining him will be Albert Brumley Jr. to sing gospel songs. This will be a rare Monett appearance for both artists.

The dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Funds raised will be used for center maintenance and the food service program, specifically to upgrade kitchen equipment.

Advance tickets can be ordered by calling 235-3285.
