Missouri Weekly Hay Summary Week ending 10/12/12

Following several weeks of limited hay sales, the weekend and early week
frost has added a new sense of urgency for those seeking hay.  Unfortunately
supplies remain very light, especially for grass hay and alternatives are now
limited as well.  Prices are firm for all types of hay and demand is good to
very good.  The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory

and on most recent reported sales prices listed as round bales based generally 
on 5x6 bales with weights of approximately 1200-1500 lbs).
