Mercy is now offering a new, upgraded mobile magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner that will travel to hospitals in Cassville, Aurora and Berryville, Ark. MRI images are used to diagnose problems that can't be seen with traditional X-ray or ultrasound. The upgrade from the 1.0 to 1.5 magnet will offer faster scan times and allow hospital staff members to perform additional exams. The new mobile MRI will provide weekly service to all three hospitals. "It's so important to our patients to have access to the services they need locally," said Doug Stroemel, Mercy Hospital Aurora and Cassville president. "We remain committed to meeting the healthcare needs of our communities and are very pleased to bring this advanced imaging technology to them."
