Dorotha M. Wuellner, age 90, of Monett, Mo., went to be with her Savior on Saturday morning, Oct. 6, 2012 at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett, Mo., following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 2, 1922, to George and Sadie (Weber) Carl in Mt. Vernon, Mo.
On Nov. 13, 1938 in Jasper, Mo., Dorotha M. Carl and Clarence J. Wuellner were united in marriage and celebrated 71 years together before his passing on July 2, 2010. Most of their married life was spent in the St. Louis area before retiring to Monett in 1975. Dorotha was a member of Zion United Church of Christ near Freistatt. Her joy was being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorotha is survived by two daughters, Margaret Underwood and Georgeanna Wormington, and husband, Tom, all of Monett; one son Larry Wuellner, and wife, Susan, of Boston, Mass.; six grandchildren, Kirk Wormington, and wife, Pam, Jared Wormington, and wife, Mendi, all of Monett, Laurie McCroskey, and husband, Dean, of Willard, Mo., Christa Clifton, and husband, Steve, of Houston, Texas, Andrew Underwood, and wife, Holly, of Mt. Vernon and Julie Scott, and husband, Carl, of Collinsville, Ala.; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Elvamae Carl, of San Jose, Calif.; and one nephew, Tim Carl, and wife, Mary, of San Jose, Calif.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wuellner will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 at the Zion United Church of Christ near Freistatt. Dr. Bill Cox will officiate. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. prior to service time Monday at the Church. Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery.
